Faculty Recruitment

The senior advisor works with Arts and Sciences departments and programs on all aspects of their search plans and hiring process. Every aspect of recruitment is evaluated for potential contributions to Dartmouth's inclusive excellence goals.

Mellon Faculty Fellow Program

In 2017, Dartmouth received an innovative grant from the Mellon Foundation to increase faculty diversity by providing postdoctoral appointments that convert automatically to tenure-track positions. Today, Arts and Sciences continues to support this program with a Mellon endowment and in partnership with the Office of the Provost.

Venn Mentor Groups

In response to faculty interests and requests, small groups of faculty come together around shared goals or issues, for both short- and long-term interactions. This model is inspired by both the Mutual Mentoring initiative at UMass-Amherst and the Venn Vision Grants at Dartmouth. (If you have an idea, please contact us!)

STEM + DEI faculty leaders

Representatives from each department in the science division convene regularly to coordinate resources and practices related to diversity and inclusion, in an effort to increase the pace of change.

In partnership with the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity, we seek to broaden programming opportunities for faculty of color. We welcome suggestions!
