  • Director, E.E. Just Program

  • School House Professor

Dr. Sutton is a mathematician with research interests in differential geometry. In particular, much of Sutton’s research is animated by questions concerning Lie group actions and inverse spectral geometry. Beyond his role as a research mathematician and instructor, Sutton serves as the director of the college’s E.E. Just Program, which seeks to increase the number of systemically excluded minorities who chose to pursue degrees and careers in STEM, and he is the inaugural House Professor of School House, one of Dartmouth’s six residential House Communities. Prior to Dartmouth, Sutton was an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. He earned a B.A. in Mathematics from Yale and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan.
